Birdies

Birdie, Ucellino

These colorful birds are made out of post-natural-disaster wood. Did you know that during the process of wood creation, trees sequester carbon?

Yes, they do. They get it from our atmosphere as a gas (CO2) and during the photosynthesis they transform that carbon into wood! Isn’t that amazing?

By not burning wood, and instead creating art using post-natural-disaster wood, I try to avoid the release of that carbon to the atmosphere again. A small and colorful piece of sustainable art 🙂

Data:

Davit Nava, Birdies, 2015, painted iron, acrylic on post-natural-disaster wood, 7.8 x 3.9 x 7.8 in / 20 x 10 x 20 cm
